Eagle Award Scholarship

Overview

The Eagle Awards Scholarship is established to recognize and support students in Grade 6 to 12 who embody the core values of our school: Academic Excellence and Building Character. This scholarship program aims to encourage and reward students who demonstrate exceptional commitment to their studies, personal growth, and the school community.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the Eagle Awards Scholarship, students must meet the following criteria:

Grade Level

Applicants must be enrolled in Grade 6 to 12 at our school.

Residence Requirement

The student must have completed at least two full academic years of residence at Sekolah Lentera Kasih.

Academic Excellence

Applicants should maintain a minimum grade of 75 in all subjects for 2 consecutive academic years.

Character and Leadership

Applicants must exhibit outstanding character, leadership qualities, and involvement in school and community activities.

Application

Applicants must submit a complete scholarship application along with supporting documents as per the application guidelines.

Application Process

To apply for the Eagle Awards Scholarship, students must complete the following steps:

Supporting Documents

Prepare the following documents to accompany your application:

  • A personal statement (maximum 500 words) highlighting your academic achievements, personal growth, and contributions to the school and community.
  • A minimum of two and a maximum of five letters of recommendation, with at least one from outside the school community (e.g., mentors, pastors, or community leaders).
  • Copies of academic transcripts or report cards.
  • Any additional evidence of character, leadership, or extracurricular activities that demonstrate your qualifications for this scholarship.

Submission

Submit your completed application form and supporting documents to the scholarship committee by 30 April. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.

Selection Process

The selection of Eagle Awards Scholarship recipients will be a thorough and competitive process. The scholarship committee will evaluate each application based on:

  • Academic Performance: Reviewing transcripts to ensure minimum GPA requirements are met.
  • Character and Leadership: Assessing personal statements and recommendation letters to gauge character, leadership abilities, and community contributions.
  • Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview with the scholarship committee.

Scholarship Details

  • Number of Awards
    Maximum of three (3) students per year.
  • Benefits
    Recipients will receive a 30% discount on the following academic year's school fees.
  • Note for Grade 12
    If the recipient is in their final year, the 30% discount will be converted into its equivalent monetary value.
  • Notification
    Successful applicants will be notified in writing by 1 June.

Additional Conditions

This scholarship cannot be combined with other discounts (except sibling and full payment discounts). If a student receives multiple awards, the one with the higher value will apply.

The school reserves the right to modify criteria to ensure fairness and alignment with school goals.

Any disputes will be resolved by the school's administration in consultation with the scholarship committee.
